Sunday, a day of rest, but I awoke early listening to the gentle waves of the high tide breaking onto the beach. The sky is overcast The air is damp and hazy. The barometer currently reads about 29.3" and is falling compared to yesterday when we arrived. I walked on the road over the hill to the shop in Downderry this morning then back along the beach on the hard sand left by the receding tide.
The garden here at St Martin's is abundant; Anthea would have loved it. There is a common gull nesting on the roof behind the chimney.
And here's the state of the tide this afternoon just before 14:00.
And this evening.
A note of interest: the Eddystone light is just visible on the horizon when the haze clears.
